My improv comedy troupe The Magic Meathands team up with Jumpstart Saturday night, December 12, at The Spot Café in Culver City for a night of family friendly funny! The fun starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $7.

The Magic Meathands and I are performing twice this week!
First, it’s our weekly Thursday Night Comedy Cafe at The Spot! For just $5, you get to experience audience interactive comedy theatre. The Meathands do a mix of long form improv and scene games to deliver a full hour of delightful absurdity based on audience suggestions. Come hungry and ready to relax ‘cause the couches are comfy and the food is excellent.

Second, this Friday is the Magic Meathands special debut performance at the Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica! For $10, you get a full Meathands show, with our audience interactive experience featuring long form improv and scene games, plus performances by The Waterbrains and Mission IMPROVable.

This Thursday the Magic Meathands will be performing to homeless and underprivileged families at the Ultimate Vision Church in Inglewood at noon. Before, during and after our shenanigans, the church will be serving Thanksgiving dinners to families in need.
I’m honored and excited to be part of this show. Unfortunately that means our normal Thursday night show will not be happening this week. But we’ll be back at The Spot in Culver City next Thursday at 8 pm.

On November 12, 2009, fellow improviser Dawn Akemi was inducted into the Magic Meathands‘ Century Club. It’s an honor bestowed upon those who perform 100 shows with the company. Being that the director is the only one who knows how many shows the players do, this came as a complete surprise to Dawn, who had convinced herself that another player would be next. (She’s only the third inductee, following Andrew Pari and Nikki Turner, who you can see in the background of the video below).

Double your pleasure with… two Magic Meathands shows this week! Both with me!
November 12, Thursday night at 8 PM, it’s our weekly Comedy Cafe at The Spot, 4455 Overland Ave., Culver City 90230. Only $5, and you get lots of laughs in return. There’s also yummy food available for your consumption.
Then on Saturday, November 14, at 8 PM, it’s our brand new family friendly show! We’ll be teaming up with the improv troupe Jumpstart for a special all-ages show. So bring the kids! Bring the senior citizens! Bring everyone in between! That’s also at The Spot, 4455 Overland Ave., Culver City 90230. Admission: $7.

The Magic Meathands have posted another video to their YouTube channel. Inexplicably, I am again not in this one. I can’t imagine why because everything I do is unerringly hilarious.
Be that as it may, fellow Meathands Carrie Aikman, Dawn Akemi, and Heather Brumley are pretty funny, too. Here, they play a game called Enter-Exit. They each have a cue word, given by the audience. Each time someone uses one of the words in the scene, the corresponding person has to either enter or exit. Carrie has “unicorn”, Dawn has “obsequious” and Heather has “grapefruit”. Needless to say, that middle word caused some trouble.
For all you who can’t make my weekly Thursday night shows, this Saturday 8 PM is your chance!
The Magic Meathands (including me!) will be performing with some of the Meathand students. This is the last of the Student Medley shows for the year (and for some time to come) so don’t miss it!
