WalkMS – over $1K raised so far!

For a second time, I have just broken past my fund raising goal for the Greater LA Walk MS!

My original goal of $500 was quickly surpassed within four days of my announcement, in tribute to my wife Nahleen who inspires me in her battle with MS every day and the 84-year-old woman from New Jersey who rides her single-speed bike 150 miles every year to raise money for MS. It is slightly over two weeks later and my increased goal of $1,000 was just met!

Tremendous thank yous to everyone who has donated and emailed or messaged me with enthusiastic support!

What should my next goal be? How much would you pay to see me in a heels and dress? Yes, that’s right. In case you forgot, I’ll be dressing as the lady pictured above. Click the image to read the original CNN article, which helped me come up with this goofy idea.

Here’s my updated and spruced up Walk MS Page. And here’s our team page (we’d love to have you join our team! Don’t worry, you don’t have to dress up like me.).

Hosting Comedy Walk this Thursday

25 different comedy acts. 6 downtown Los Angeles venues.

That’s right, six 90-minute comedy shows running at the same time.

This Thursday, July 10th, 8:30-10:00 PM, I will be hosting one of the six different rooms that will be chock full of a rotating roster of stand-up comics in this month’s Comedy Walk.

I will be in The Chicken Room (yes, yes, I know), Spring Arts Tower, 211 W. 5th Street, Los Angeles 90013 [Google Maps]. I’ll be starting things at 8:25 on the dot!

Comics on my stage will be Jason Dudey, Josh Rencher, Jackie Fabulous Champagnie, Roz Browne, Bruno Lucia, Tim Powers, Julia Louiza, Joe Bartnick and Larry Vazeos. (That’s a whole lotta links!)

Stop by… It’s FREE!

Stand and Fight – WalkMS 2008

On April 6th, 2008, the Walk MS event was held at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in southern California. Nahleen Blake, co-captain of the National MS Society’s TeamMS who has MS herself, walked to raise money to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis. She brought some cameras to follow her on the 5K walk.

Her team helped raise nearly $17,000 for the National MS Society. The event itself raised over $1.3 million.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research than any other private organization. In addition to supporting studies which hope to reveal the cause and course of the disease, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society also provides much needed education, programs, and services to everyone who is affected by MS – including the diagnosed, their friends and families, and the healthcare professionals who work with them.

The song used in this video is “Stand and Fight” by James Taylor from the 1981 album, Dad Loves His Work.

Improv(‘)ing this Saturday June 14

This Saturday at 8:00 PM, I will be performing with The Magic Meathands in a FREE-FREE-FREE show at The Spot Café & Lounge! The Bill Johnson that isn’t a racist lawyer who just lost his bid to become a California Superior Court Judge will be leading us once again.

These shows are always lots of fun, both for the performers and the audience (that’s you!). So stop on by and enjoy some improv that’s actually pretty dang good!

Bring your laughs!
