Funny Videos

That Obsequious Chick

The Magic Meathands have posted another video to their YouTube channel. Inexplicably, I am again not in this one. I can’t imagine why because everything I do is unerringly hilarious.

Be that as it may, fellow Meathands Carrie Aikman, Dawn Akemi, and Heather Brumley are pretty funny, too. Here, they play a game called Enter-Exit. They each have a cue word, given by the audience. Each time someone uses one of the words in the scene, the corresponding person has to either enter or exit. Carrie has “unicorn”, Dawn has “obsequious” and Heather has “grapefruit”. Needless to say, that middle word caused some trouble.

Blown out of Proportion

The Magic Meathands have started posting videos of our live shows again! This is the first MM video that I’m in, except you can’t see my head and I do almost nothing! Yay me! Still, it’s a fun video.

This is a game we’ve been doing to open our shows. It’s usually called Objection, but we’ve started to call it Cranky Lawyers. We take a suggestion from the audience. In this instance it was the word “objections”. You’ll get the idea of how it works pretty quickly.

For more videos, check out the Magic Meathands YouTube channel. There is also now a Magic Meathands Fan Page! And a Magic Meathands Twitter account! There’s also a Magic Meathands MySpace page but I’m not giving you a link to that because no one cares about MySpace anymore. (And the less said about the Hi5 account, the better.)

Earth Hour ’09 in LA – not what it was cracked up to be

I want you to Dig Comics

“When most people think of comic books, they think of a bunch of lowbrow entertainment for duller minds. Fact is, this art form is the most exciting and vibrant medium happening now. And don’t think just superheroes. Any genre you may fancy – comedy, horror, drama, documentary, the surreal, spiritual, historical, political – anything you want is out there being created by a community of incredibly talented and underappreciated writers and artists. Check out what you’ve been missing!” – DigComics.com

Dig Comics is a documentary about one man’s quest to get America to Dig Comics! (Heck, even if you’re outside of America, he wants you to Dig Comics!) We talked to people on the street to see why they didn’t read comics and to see if we could get them interested. We talked to comic book creators like Jeph Loeb (A Superman For All Seasons, “Heroes,” “Lost”), Dame Darcy (Meatcake) and Scott Shaw! (Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew, “Flintstones”) and retailers to find out what went wrong with an American art form that was all the rage in the 1940s and then nearly vanished, to see if there’s a chance for it to thrive again today.

Above is the trailer for the documentary. I served as associate producer. It includes fun animation by Scott Shaw! and Russell Calabrese. We’re looking to spread the word about this documentary and about comics in general. We want to see if we can get you to Dig Comics!

Stand and Fight – WalkMS 2008

On April 6th, 2008, the Walk MS event was held at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in southern California. Nahleen Blake, co-captain of the National MS Society’s TeamMS who has MS herself, walked to raise money to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis. She brought some cameras to follow her on the 5K walk.

Her team helped raise nearly $17,000 for the National MS Society. The event itself raised over $1.3 million.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research than any other private organization. In addition to supporting studies which hope to reveal the cause and course of the disease, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society also provides much needed education, programs, and services to everyone who is affected by MS – including the diagnosed, their friends and families, and the healthcare professionals who work with them.

Please visit http://www.nmss.org for more information.
Please visit http://main.nationalmssociety.org/sit… for more information on the April 6th Walk.
Also, here’s more pictures from the Walk

The song used in this video is “Stand and Fight” by James Taylor from the 1981 album, Dad Loves His Work.

A Spacey Adventure

Here’s something I did several years ago:

YouTube Description: This Star Trek: The Next Generation parody was created by using computer imaging based on the actors’ faces. Fun Little Movies founder Frank Chindamo created this pilot for mobile phones. Face2Face provided the CGI and interpreted the actors’ facial expressions. Corey Blake played the Data character.

Demo Reel

Eagle-eyed visitors might have noticed that I added my demo reel to the Video Vault page so it can be with all of its friends. If your wrist hurts from clicking on the internet all day long, here it is embedded for your pleasure.

This reminds me. I need a new demo reel. I’ve done plenty of stuff since this was assembled and they deserve to be bragged about. Well, most of them.

Magellan Spec Commercial

Shot early June 2007 with director Mark Edward Lewis and producer Andrea Shreeman.

Sketch comedy videos added

Still moving in. Check out the Video Vault for some YouTube and MySpaceTV videos of my work with the sketch comedy group Foe Pa. Unfortunately WordPress doesn’t really have a way to embed MySpaceTV videos, so those are links. Or if they do, I haven’t figured it out yet. If anyone knows, drop a comment or email.

Looking at these videos again brought back some great memories. I really had a fun time with that group – such a friendly, talented and dynamic ensemble. I hope you enjoy them.
