The Magic Meathands are giving their audiences special gifts during this month’s shows! Check out this special video with Shane Boroomand and Nikki Turner for details. (Edited by Corey Blake [why, that's me!])
Come see us at the Mary Pickford Studio, 8885 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90034 on Saturday, December 10 (with our improving friends Jump Start!) and Saturday, December 17 (with our other improving friends The Callbacks!), both at 8 PM. Tickets are $7.
The above was cross-posted on the Magic Meathands blog. I’ve been a member of the Magic Meathands for nearly 3 years, performing well over 100 shows of improvised comedy. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, give yourself a treat and catch one of our shows.
It’s another sketch comedy video for your entertainment enjoyment!
This one is a preview of a brand new historical TV series that will blow you away with its textbook accuracy while still being entertaining and yes, even sexy! I did the voice over and I also had a scene as General Robert E. Lee that will have historians talking for decades. Also featured in this video is Shane Boroomand, Mary Benedict (also the writer and director), Kathie Bostian and Nikki Turner.
The popular Gamer characters are back for the expanded version of that world-famous board game Calcatron! If you’ve ever played a game with someone that takes it a tad too seriously, you’ll probably relate. But to be fair, the red tokens are a pretty intuitive add-on once you’ve used prime numbers to determine who goes first.
Also, I friggin’ love the screen capture YouTube selected for this one.
Mary Benedict wrote and directed this one, and also played the part of Mary. I play Corey, Nikki Turner played Nikki and Kathie Bostian played Kathie. Pretty tricky character names, huh? Shane Boroomand was the cameraman and editor. Nick DeBenedetto handled sound.
To see Mary’s first attempt at playing a board game with us, check out this video.
Yes, Part 3! It’s becoming an epic! Don’t worry, no prior viewing is needed to understand this video of Gabby and her ongoing efforts to actually pull off a successful TV show. You’d think her station would stop broadcasting her live.
This sketch comedy video was written and directed by Nikki Turner. It stars Kathie Bostian as Gabby, Shane Boroomand and me as the studio crew (my character survived last episode‘s hostage situation, it turns out), Lara Sterling as the American Idol winner, and Jim Maloy and his daughter Audrey Maloy as the balloon-carrying relatives. (Kevin Callahan, Eric Ho and Matt Lundin appear in flashback. How’s that for a day’s work?)
Wrapping up what turned into sketch comedy week here at CoreyBlake.com central, we’ve now got the latest original video from the Magic Meathands! Nikki Turner wrote and directed a sequel to her first Gabby’s Good Luck Minute (although I think you’ll be able to manage without seeing the original). I play the main guest for the show and also do the announcer voice. Kathie Bostian returns as Gabby, and there’s also Shane Boroomand, Eric Ho, new Meathand Seth Rotkin, and a guest appearance by non-Meathand Matt Lundin. Kevin Callahan is present too, thanks to a flashback to Gabby part 1.
I don’t want to jump to conclusions but I think Gabby might be cursed.
Reminder: We’ve got a live show Saturday night at the The Spot Café in Culver City! 8 PM, $7 for 2 improv comedy groups including us!
Our first sketch comedy video written and directed by our newest Magic Meathand, Kathie Bostian. And this one features cat acting by Pickles the Cat! You’re supposed to never work with kids or animals but I have no integrity. I play Kathie’s husband in this one. We were very method about the whole thing so I got a divorce in order to play the part with more authenticity. Shane Boroomand and Nikki Turner play the medical professionals that make house calls. Or maybe they’re our medically savvy friends we called over to help us deliver the baby. It’s best not to over-think these things too much. (Too late.)
Reminder: We’ve got a live show Friday night at the Westside Comedy Theater! 8 PM, $10 for 3 improv comedy groups including us!
Written and directed by Mary Benedict. Me as one of the spokespersons for a new amazing pharmaceutical product with… some side effects. Also starring Mary, Kathie Bostian, Kevin Callahan, Shane Boroomand, Nikki Turner, and Seth Rotkin as Choking Guy.
I don’t know about you, but I feel better already. In fact, I’m having a hard time remembering a time when I ever felt bad. Wow, this stuff really works! I’m headed to my local pharmacy to get more!
